Recipe: Green Licorice Chai Smoothie

I LOVE Chai Spiced Tea and Licorice.
Since Chai at Starbucks is 1. made with sugar syrup 2. only available with soy milk 3. really expensive, I got creative myself 🙂 and the result was de-li-ci-ous! You can enjoy it ice cold as well as with warm water which I love to do in winter.

1 cup water
1/2 banana
1 tea bag (content only!) Licorice Spice or pinches of spices (licorice root, cinnamon, orange peel, anise, vanilla, clove, cardamon)
1.5 C greens (beetroot & cilantro)
1 scoop raw vegan protein powder neutral/vanilla
2-3 dates or Stevia to taste



Blend all, enjoy!

C = cup, 240 ml
1/2 C = half a cup, 120 ml or / TBSP
1/4 C = quarter of a cup, 60 ml or 4 TBSP
TBSP = table spoon, 15 ml or 3 tsp
tsp = tea spoon, 5 ml
“soft dates” = medjool are usually best. If necessary, soak briefly and drain. The soaking water is super sweet by the way!
