How do you get people to try smoothies? You let them choose the ingredients 🙂 (and then tweak them in case you already know it wouldn’t go well together – find my tips on how to make the perfect smoothie here and here for green smoothies.).
This one was an order from a friend and it turned out beautifully!
Ingredients:
1 banana
1 cup raspberries – 170g
1 orange, either a large one or 2 small ones
1 cup water – 200ml
1 scoop raw vegan vanilla protein powder, e.g. Garden of Life or Sunwarrior
The banana was frozen as the last ones I bought ripened so quickly I had no other option.
Also, frozen bananas make creamier smoothies and are great to make ice cream!
Preparation:
Blend all ingredients and serve immediately or fill into mason jars to take to work.
Makes around 1 liter.
Notes:
C = cup, 240 ml
1/2 C = half a cup, 120 ml or / TBSP
1/4 C = quarter of a cup, 60 ml or 4 TBSP
TBSP = table spoon, 15 ml or 3 tsp
tsp = tea spoon, 5 ml
“soft dates” = medjool are usually best. If necessary, soak briefly and drain. The soaking water is super sweet by the way!
