This recipe can also double up for ice cream – mmmmh!
To keep it low fat or make sorbet, simply omit the nuts.
1/4 C cashew nuts or hemp seeds or 2 TBSP almond butter
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cardamon
1 pinch of nutmeg
1.5 C of water
Blend all ingredients, enjoy through a straw!

Smoothies can be stored for up to 48 hours if kept refrigerated – a thermos will do if you want to take yours to work or on a little trip.
Only pineapple will go funny over night, as it’s enzymes split the proteins in the other ingredients, so if you use pineapple, blend it separately from the rest and only add it once you are ready to enjoy your smoothie!
C = cup, 240 ml
1/2 C = half a cup, 120 ml or / TBSP
1/4 C = quarter of a cup, 60 ml or 4 TBSP
TBSP = table spoon, 15 ml or 3 tsp
tsp = tea spoon, 5 ml
“soft dates” = medjool are usually best. If necessary, soak briefly and drain. The soaking water is super sweet by the way!
